Note: Revised charts for the DMZ area may be available later. The current charts plot targets by their MGRS coordinates but CONGA data for the second (1968-69) and third (1972) deployments does not contain MGRS references for naval gunfire support missions in the DMZ area; targets are located only by province names. Those uncharted missions are a significant fraction of Thunder's action: almost 400 missions comprising the entire second deployment, more than 400 missions comprising almost 75 percent of the third deployment, and overall amounting to 40 percent of all missions in the three deployments. Bob Chase is exploring alternative charting techniques to represent those missions.
