These pages contain data that I collected while preparing for our "Tran Hung Dao Trip"  to Vietnam  for Tet 2004 (January 15, 2004, to February 2, 2004).

Primarily,  it is data about the USS Newport News CA-148 first Vietnam tour of duty in 1967 and 1968, on which I served.   Most of the data relates to combat operations,  e.g. hostile fire,  the POW capture,  etc. and was collected in an effort to connect those events of more than three decades ago with specific places that I might visit on the northern coast of Viet Nam.

That data and other information I've come across since are recorded here with the thought that it might be of interest or use to shipmates.
