October 1, 1972, USS Newport News CA-148 lost twenty sailors in an explosion in Turret 2.
September 10, 1972, USS Newport News CA-148 lost a sailor over the side.
July 4, 1972, USS Newport News CA-148 lost a sailor in an accident at sea.
June 17, 1968, HMAS Hobart DDG-39 lost two sailors to friendly fire.
They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
Lest we forget.
